How to beat a World Champion
Jan Møller Christensen and Hesselhøj Donkey Boy just showed how to beat a World Champion this weekend.
As everyone knows when you reach this level and the final with a young horse it is often about having the right day and being able to show an effortless test without errors. This all succeeded for Jan Møller Christensen with Hesselhøj Donkey Boy for the third year in a row.
The bay elegant and very well moving stallion was both day´s very focused on the task, and Jan was able to show him the best possible way, not just one day but actually both for the preliminary test and for today’s final test. Even though Jan did tell after today’s test that his feeling was even better yesterday, it was still enough beating the World Champion D´Avie with Severo Jurado Lopez in the saddle.
The influence of the environment looked as if it became the difference between winning or becoming second for Severo and D´Avie. The first day D´Avie showed some excitement for the trot tour and today the canter tour became with some tensions and minor errors.
You just have to remember that it is no shame coming 2nd when the winner actually was performing better that day.
Also at the podium for the 6 year old horses was Helgstrand with his World Championship stallion Ferrari OLD by Foundation.
